Dr Lara Devlin
Dr Lara Devlin is a warm, down-to-earth GP who brings a practical, compassionate approach to patient care. She has a particular interest in women’s health, paediatrics, mental health and musculoskeletal medicine — and loves supporting women and their families through all stages of life, especially the chaotic (and wonderful) early parenting years.
She’s spent time working in busy Emergency Departments, Psychiatry and Obstetrics & Gynaecology units, including at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, and in the UK — experiences that gave her a strong foundation for the broad and unpredictable world of general practice.
Dr Lara’s Education:
-
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery – University of Queensland 2011.
-
Bachelor of Physiotherapy
-
Diploma and Certificate of Women’s Health - The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists 2016
Lara has been practicing in the Byron Shire for over five years and is passionate about preventative care. She understands the complexities of the modern family unit and the real-life struggles many people face when it comes to balancing health, work, parenting, and self-care. Lara is known for her habit of writing “scripts” for exercise, sleep and food — alongside medications — to help patients make meaningful, sustainable changes that improve their overall wellbeing

She lives in the Byron Hinterland with her husband, two kids, two golden retrievers, a grumpy ragdoll cat, a few horses and some very content chickens. Outside of work, she’s usually weeding, driving children from A to B, or recovering from a Pilates class.
